K-12 Conference

Michael Heap attended a conference last week to learn more about student devices and applications, network, network security, core infrastructure, and VAR services.

Lenovo products represent a large portion of the products for the K-12 education field. Lenovo has designed products that are rugged and meant for students which has grown their popularity as a manufacturer for K-12. Other products at the conference included LocknCharge carts, HP servers, Targus Carrying Cases, and Logitech accessories. This event showed a wide variety of solutions to give a complete look at what is in demand for K-12 schools.

ScholarBuys attends conferences to stay informed on the best technology for K-12 schools. We are always working together as a team and with manufacturers to offer the best solution. By attending conferences we are always learning new features and new solutions to present to schools.

Michael traveled to Pennsylvania for the K-12 conference. In his travels he faced a two hour wait for the plane to take off and a mistaken shuttle driver that originally took them to the wrong location before he delivered the attendees to the conference! There were 30 attendees at the conference mostly consisting of K-12 Account Representatives. Manufacturer and distribution representatives for each product line also attended the conference.

One of the big topics at the conference was the push for Digital Assessment readiness. Chromebooks fit this space perfectly because they are approved by PARCC ( Partnership for Assessment of Readiness for College and Careers ) and SBAC ( Smarter Balanced Assessment ) testing.

“As the K-12 East Sales Executive, I feel I am very knowledgeable in the Chromebook space and am able to bring great insight and ideas to my customers.”
