The Path to ScholarBuys

Jessica graduated from Southern Illinois University with a degree in teaching. However, at the time of her graduation, teachers were getting laid off even if they were tenured. With this field looking so unstable, Jessica decided to find another way to use her educational background in a career that was more stable. She applied for ScholarBuys and it was a perfect match!

Jessica’s previous work experience helped prepare her to become the Operations Manager here at ScholarBuys. Throughout college she worked as a server and bartender which taught her to balance many tasks at once and handle stress. As an operations manager there is a lot to keep track of day to day and Jessica has become a master at balancing projects. She also worked as a secretary at a chiropractic office which gave her an office and operations background.

Six Years of Memories

“Having been here for 6 years, I’ve gone through a lot of the growing pains and changes that come along with a small company and growth. It’s exciting to know where we started and where we are today and to have been a part of it.”

Jessica says the best part of working at ScholarBuys has been the people.

“I have developed some lifelong friendships with some of my coworkers. Everyone here gets along and has a good time with each other.”

 
Jessica received the “Best of the Best Award” in 2012 and 2013.
